-87%: Ripple token sales show maximum drop

Sales of the XRP cryptocurrency asset developed by Ripple, a California-based company, fell 87% in the first quarter of this year, according to the financial report.

The negative dynamics was facilitated by the program to reduce sales to large investors and the sale of tokens at leading cryptocurrency trading floors. The developers said that due to a change in strategy, they decided to give preference to over-the-counter sales in specific locations (the Middle East, Africa, European countries and Asia).

Thus, in the first quarter of this year, Ripple managed to sell XRP in the amount of $ 1.75 million, while in the fourth quarter of 2019 this figure was $ 13.08 million. It is worth noting that sales for the first time fell to such a low level since 2016. Experts note that the decline in interest in the asset is also associated with a fall in its price, which since 2018 also showed a maximum drop (more than 90%).
