Chinese police arrest famous crypto trader Zhao Dong

The Chinese police continue to suppress the work of citizens with digital assets in their country. Yesterday it became known about the arrest of the head of RenrenBit, the famous over-the-counter crypto trader Zhao Dong, who is suspected of hiding the proceeds of crime.

At RenrenBit, they note that services are provided to customers in full.

We add that in 2017, the PRC authorities banned trading floors from conducting operations with digital assets and the RMB, which facilitated the transition of most market participants to over-the-counter platforms. It is worth noting that the case has already caused a wide resonance from the public, since the arrested person is a significant figure in local business circles.
