Cryptocurrency platform Coinbase has partnered with American tech company Square as a founding board member of the Cryptocurrency Open Patent Alliance (COPA), which has already been backed by major market players such as Satoshi Labs, Kraken, Blockstream, Transparent Systems, Protocol Labs, Blockstack and others. …
The main task of Coinbase in the project will be to advance the COPA mission, educate the community and attract new members to the alliance. Representatives believe that people need to unite to create and develop existing technologies for innovative solutions, which are currently being blocked by patents and lawsuits.
“As the cryptoeconomy continues to grow, we believe it is important to help all projects built towards an open financial system. We look forward to working with COPA members to create fundamental patent protection for our industry, ”concluded COPA Board Member and Coinbase Senior Advisor Brittany Cuthbert.
