Commissioner for the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Hester Pearce believes that the regulator will have to create more obvious regulations for the rapidly changing crypto market, which attracts more and more participants to its ranks.
Hester Pearce, who is called a “cryptomama” for her loyalty to the digital market, noted that the regulator’s actions only slow down the development of innovations. Negatively, the speed of adoption of new norms, in her opinion, is influenced, first of all, by the reluctance of officials to introduce other ways of development, since they can negatively affect the initiators themselves, if the new policy does not go according to plan. At the same time, the official noted, many government officials still believe in the development of new markets and believe that the department needs to be more favorable to innovations, and not only focus on the launch of the digital dollar and other currencies initiated by the central banks of states.
Speaking about the refusal of the SEC to approve applications for the launch of bitcoin-ETF, “cryptomam” expressed regret about the position of the regulator, but refused to name the possible time frame for making a positive decision.
