The interest in payments using cryptocurrencies from customers is only growing, says the head of PayPal Daniel Shulman. The company plans to add the ability to work with bitcoin to pay for goods in more than 28 million retail outlets around the world.
At the moment, only 10% of users can use crypto-operations, but soon American citizens will be able to join them. According to Daniel Schulman, this will not lead to additional commissions for either consumers or sellers. “Digital wallets are a natural complement to all forms of digital currency,” he stressed, but noted that any attempt to introduce digital tools into everyday commerce faces a significant obstacle in the form of the US tax system. At the same time, the head of PayPal emphasized that technologies have stepped forward so much that systems such as blockchain not only now provide faster and cheaper payments, but also secure.
We add, in addition to the first cryptocurrency, the payment giant intends to support Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash.eta.
