Electronic currency from the largest social network Facebook may appear as early as 2021, the Financial Times says. First of all, the token will be presented in a “limited format” (for now, only a tool that correlates with the US national currency will be available). The developers are currently awaiting a decision from the Swiss financial regulator (FINMA).
We will remind, earlier it was planned to launch the Libra token in the first quarter of this year, however, faced with a negative reaction from regulators and international authorities, Facebook specialists were forced to revise their plans. Now the company intends to present several stablecoins, the rate of which will be pegged to the national currencies of large countries (USA, EU, UK, Singapore).
