Nouriel Roubini, a professor of economics at New York University and a well-known critic of digital currencies, believes that the new American President Joe Biden and his administration will take all necessary measures to regulate the cryptocurrency industry.
So, in a twitter account, Roubini suggested that the newly elected officials would develop a regulatory framework that would allow them to fight tax evasion using assets “from a crypto-wash”. “The Biden administration will establish the fight against money laundering, evasion of verification using cryptocurrencies, putting things in order even more than the Ministry of Finance has managed to do at the moment,” he stressed.
It is worth noting that Nouriel Roubini is skeptical not only about the first cryptocurrency, which he considers an unsafe coin to use and store, but also XRP, which he predicted last year to fall to zero value. The critic did not ignore mining, noting that the extraction of digital assets leads to environmental pollution.
