OverProtocol Announces Open Beta Testnet And an Incentive Program in Preparation for the Mainnet Launch

With its sights fully gazed on a dynamic year ahead, OverProtocol, a Layer 1 blockchain, has revealed that it is gearing up for a mainnet launch in the first half of the coming year.

According to an official release today, the announcement follows the successful completion of a closed beta testnet in October, which drew 15,000 applicants from 127 countries.

Notably, the OverProtocol journey takes a community-centric approach by introducing the OverProtocol Community Airdrop Program (OCAP). As part of this initiative, OverProtocol has activated two pivotal quests, the first of which, hosted on OverWallet, has garnered participation from over 4.7 million users in the past six months. The second quest invites users to engage with OverProtocol by running validators via OverNode on the newly announced Open Beta Testnet.

To kickstart the Open Beta Testnet (OBT), OverProtocol has announced two seasons. OBT Season 1 is set to run from December 13th to 22nd, allowing participants to experience Home Staking and explore the key feature of OverProtocol, Ethanos. The accumulated scores from both seasons will be crucial in determining the airdrop amounts.

Moreso, to participate in OBT Season 1, users are encouraged to follow essential steps, including downloading the OverNode client and completing missions through structured guidance provided by the client. Pioneers are also urged to stay updated with official announcements through the OverNode Channel on X and access OverNode from the official website starting December 13th.

OverProtocol’s vision revolves around ‘Ethanos,’ a protocol that considers only active accounts as valid, allowing full nodes to discard obsolete data and operate with reduced storage requirements. The brainchild of Superblock, ‘OverNode’ empowers individuals to run a full node of OverProtocol on their home PCs, becoming validators and earning $OVER through a process known as Home Staking.

Ben, the CEO of Superblock, emphasizes, “By allowing anyone to run a validator, individuals have the opportunity to earn $OVER through Home Staking, offering new payment options, enhanced credit, and innovative financial opportunities.”
