Sui Foundation Announces Strategic Partnership with Franklin Templeton Digital Assets

The Sui Foundation, an independent entity focused on propelling the growth and integration of Sui, the cutting-edge Layer 1 and smart contract platform, has unveiled a strategic alliance with Franklin Templeton Digital Assets. Franklin Templeton Digital Assets is diving into the Sui ecosystem, confident that this strategic partnership will enhance its efforts. It seeks value-creation opportunities that empower builders of Sui blockchain-based solutions to harness innovative technologies through the Sui blockchain protocol.

“Sui was originally inspired by some of the challenges Franklin Templeton Digital Assets is helping to solve, particularly those that exist within decentralized finance today,” said Jameel Khalfan, Head of Ecosystem Development. “Their interest in Sui’s groundbreaking technology feels not only validating but as though Sui has come full circle.”

Franklin Templeton Digital Assets has been actively developing blockchain technology solutions, operating node validators, and crafting diverse investment strategies over the past few years. The company’s specialized digital assets research team utilizes fundamental “tokenomic” analysis, insights from an integrated data science team, and extensive industry connections to guide product development and investment strategies.

“For the past decade, blockchain technology has captured public attention from technologists and economists alike, but often runs up against technical limitations. We are excited for what the Sui team is building,” said Tony Pecore, SVP / Director of Digital Asset Management at Franklin Templeton.

Noteworthy projects are emerging within the Sui ecosystem, such as DeepBook on Sui, which serves as DeFi’s solution to a central limit order book—essentially the backbone for exchanges to manage trading activities by tracking bids and offers. Additionally, there’s Karrier One, a decentralized mobile carrier powering the Karrier One DePin network, alongside Ika, a parallel MPC network designed to facilitate smooth and secure cross-chain interactions.

Sui stands out as a robust and scalable platform, paving the way for the next generation of intelligent assets. It has quickly established itself as a top choice for developers across various sectors, including gaming, DeFi, memecoins, and even real-world applications like 3D printing and tokenized securities. Recently, native USDC made its debut on Sui, granting users seamless access to one of the most popular stablecoins in the world, all while eliminating the extra complexities and risks associated with bridged assets.
