Residents of Canada can now transact digital assets BTC and ETH using the services of the regulated trading platform Wealthsimple Crypto. The services are available through the platform’s mobile application.
It is noted that the company is closely cooperating with the custody service founded by the Winklevoss brothers, Gemini Custody, which will allow storing user assets on this platform. According to market experts, it was this partnership that became an important catalyst for the recognition of Wealthsimple Crypto by the local regulator (the Canadian Securities Authority (CSA)).
It’s worth noting that even before the launch, a beta version was available, allowing potential customers to join a waiting list to receive an invitation to use the platform. Wealthsimple reported that more than 130 thousand Canadians have expressed a desire to use the company’s services.
