Cryptocurrency wallets remain difficult to use, as developers pay insufficient attention to their security, says Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.
Speaking at the laBITconf 2020 blockchain conference, he noted that the greatest difficulties are experienced by technically inexperienced people. So, Buterin emphasized that now it costs nothing to lose up to 200 thousand dollars just due to a malfunction of the electronic wallet. “I am sure that we pay too little attention to this problem, because no one wants to admit the loss of these 200 thousand and look like an idiot,” said Vitalik Buterin. In the event that the cryptoindustry continues to ignore the problem, users will begin to gradually move back to centralized solutions, the co-founder of Ethereum suggested.
Earlier, he expressed the opinion that in the near future, digital currencies developed by world central banks can be converted into cryptocurrencies.
