The largest US miner, Ethereum CoreWeave, announced a decision to redirect the power of 6 thousand graphic processors (GPUs) to Stanford University to help find a study of coronavirus. Folding @ home’s educational program aims to bring computers from around the world to tackle the rapidly spreading epidemic with a unique approach to pharmaceutical development.

“Their research activities have had a profound effect on obtaining medicines, for example, to protect against HIV, and we hope that our computing power will help to find a solution in the current epidemic situation,” said Brian Venturo, Technical Director of CoreWeave.

We add that the Folding @ home project uses the capabilities of computers around the world when deciding on their owners, even if it is just one laptop with a small supply of unused computing capabilities.
