Japanese billionaire, founder and CEO of the Japanese holding company SoftBank Masayoshi Son spoke about his experience of investing in digital instruments.

So, according to him, the main driver of investing in bitcoin was the advice of a friend, who strongly recommended Son to invest in a new asset class. The billionaire followed the offer and invested $ 200 million in the first cryptocurrency. However, due to high volatility, it was not possible to increase their income and the head of SoftBank lost about $ 50 million, as a result of which he refused to work with cryptocurrencies.

“I monitored bitcoin quotes every day, watching how it went up and down. Even then I came to the conclusion that I do not know this market at all. This distracted me from my main business, so I decided to sell bitcoins at any price, ”said Masayoshi Son, noting that without cryptocurrencies in his portfolio, he feels“ much better ”.

It is worth noting that despite the negative experience of investing in digital tools, the head of SoftBank believes that they are the future, as well as innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence, with which Masayoshi Sona’s company is currently actively working.
